Examination with radioactive trace substance and Picture taking with PET/CT camera today
My taxi came 10 minutes late when picking me up this morning because it has been snowing several days now. My scheduled time was 10:30 but I registered at Neuclear Medicine at 10:40 AM.
Sitting here now and drinking the contrast I got after taking a medicine that will help the fat cells disappear in the picture så they will get clearer pictures.
At 11:30, a nurse came and fetch me. I was taken to a small room and there I was given a needle in my arm ready for injection for fluid medicine. She also took a blood sugar that showed 6.2 and it was a good value she said. She left me to rest for an hour. Another nurse came and asked me to empty my bladder then we went to the PET/CT machine to have the scanning. I was put in a machine that looks like the picture below. I was put in and out several times in about 20 minutes.
After the scanning I went to the hospital restaurant to have my lunch. It was salmon with potato pudding and little from the sallad bar. A cup of coffee and 2 biscuits after the food then I was satisfied. I went back to the main entrance to book for a taxi home.
